Description
Progress in HIV treatment only occurs with the valuable contributions of HIV-positive individuals who enroll in clinical trials. These trials, also known as research studies, help to improve the treatment and management of HIV infection.

The UCSD Antiviral Research Center invites volunteers from the community to participate in our research. Opportunities are available for people living with HIV infection. If you are interested, check out the FAQs, which provide more specific information about enrolling in clinical trials. Or you can skip to our list of open studies to see if any apply to you.

Already enrolled in a study?
We have open studies that need participants and ongoing studies that have enough participants and are still in progress. Check either list to review the studies in which you are enrolled.

About unfamiliar terms
As with any disease, HIV has its own vocabulary, which grows more complex the more we learn. We have underlined many words already and linked them to an online glossary. All you have to do is click the word, then find it in the glossary. Or you can always click the Glossary button to look up words on your own.
